Short description

BoatClaw is the all-in-one marine navigation app for iPhone and iPad. It integrates charts, high-resolution bathymetry, weather, smart routing, GPS tracking and more into one chart. Built by Crab Labs, a small independent studio, and in beta through Apple TestFlight.

Boilerplate

BoatClaw is a marine navigation app for iPhone and iPad, built for boaters who treat the planning as part of the adventure. Its chart draws the bottom as continuous depth shading from high-resolution survey data, and every feature adapts to the boat: Hazard Advisor marks caution and warning areas for the buffer you set, Depth Explorer lights up any depth band you choose, and routing finds water charted deep enough for your draft, with a depth profile along every route. The weather suite puts observed radar refreshed every two minutes, radar forecasts, wind, waves, lightning, stations, buoys and cameras on the same chart, and a tap on any point lines up wind, seas, ride and the tide on one timeline. Tides, track logging, waypoints, custom overlays and shareable passage plans round it out. BoatClaw is built by Crab Labs LLC, a small independent studio, and is in beta through Apple TestFlight.

The story

BoatClaw was built by pilots who boat. In the cockpit, the planning and the flying happen on the same instrument, so by the time the wheels leave the ground the pilot has already seen the route, the weather and the way out. BoatClaw brings that to the water. The chart you plan on at the table is the chart you run on, so the water is already familiar when you cast off, and the picture keeps updating underway. The captain is always responsible at the helm. BoatClaw's job is to keep the whole picture in view.

Logo and brand

The primary mark is the stacked lockup, white on royal blue, exactly as the app's launch screen shows it. Use the color version on white and light grounds. "BoatClaw" is one word with a capital B and C; never hyphenate it or add a space.
